Best Wrench Organizer ever, with French Cleat BONUS
I've been organizing the shop. This wrench rack or wrench organizer video shows what I've come up with regarding wrench storage, as well as socket, and other tool storage. Super easy build, and the bonus integration into the popular french cleat wall that just kind of popped into my head well after the design adds another level of utility. Wasn't sure how useful a wrench organizer would be, but after using these wrench racks over the last few months, I'm surprised at just how much I really like them. I have also come to realize a much greater benefit of using these modular tool holders. It practically forces you to put the tools away when your done. If you leave a tool on the bench or floor and glance at the wrench rack, its basically screaming at you to get that wrench or socket and make the rack full again. Since my racks are always in the open, on the side of my toolbox, or on my french cleat wall, they will constantly yell at me if they aren't full of tools. Never have to search for the 10 millimeter ever again! This truly has been a gamechanger in my shop. Simply had to share.
I've included some links to magnets like the ones I used in this video, and if you purchase any of these products from my links, I think I might actually make a penny or 2. Honestly though, there are so many to choose from, it doesn't really matter if you buy the ones I've linked or some other version. A magnet is a magnet, search for the best prices you can find. They really are great for so many things, only your lack of imagination can hold you back. Give it a try.

I love bobbers, but I am no mechanic, and don't have any real fabrication tools in my wood shop. BUT.... Blue Collar Bobbers makes many kits for different makes of motorcycles that allow noobs like me to make awesome custom bobbers from the most common of motorcycles. Watch me try for the first time to bobb a bike. A Yamaha Vstar 1100. I am shocked at how well it turned out. The Blue Collar Bob...
Easy DIY Socket Organizer

If you use socket wrenches, keeping them organized and easily available, in the tool box and at the work site, is a bit of a nuisance. There are organizers you can buy online, but they all have their issues, whether its expense, quality, or adaptability to the tools and workspace YOU have and use. So here is my solution that utilizes magnets and scrap wood or plywood. You can tweak this idea to...

Snap-On vs Harbor Freight Screwdriver comparison? With bonus Snap-On warranty info!!

Got my 20 year old snap-on screwdriver replaced under warranty without a receipt. Also, bought the cheapest POS Harbor Freight screwdriver in the store for an unrelated project. More importantly, I found out how to contact Snap-On to get warranty service on an old tool. ...

You could easily put two rows of sockets on each of those pieces of wood. You are wasting too much space.

I have 12 Harbor Freight clamps. I checked their function before leaving the store. 6 years and they work fine. I don't tighten them as tight as possible because its not needed. Just be smart and don't buy the ones that don't look or work right at the store. If your are inpatient and rich, go for the fancy ones. If not, just use the tools you have within their functional capacity.

I have used these Neodymium magnets for many projects. What I can say is they are subject to damage. The coating flakes off and they chip and break easily. My suggestion would be to glue a piece of cloth or thin felt on top of the magnets to cushion the impact of the socket when you put them in your holder. As a Mechanic, I have to agree with you, I have been using the metal socket holders for years and they SUCK! As you state the sockets can be a bear to get off. But the kicker is after a few months they won't hold the sockets on at all and you are picking your sockets up off the floor constantly. Interesting project. I may try something like this. Thank you for posting.

I like your design the best (no one comes close) on both wrench and socket holders. The only way to improve your design is to use CAD software and use a cnc router to route out plywood panels. A cnc router would make production of these holders much faster and would allow for easy creative design changes without a lot of work. I would like to make these holders as Xmas gifts to sell at Craft shows. If these could be produced cheaply competing with Amazon's extremely expensive versions would be easy... I followed your advice and found socket labels/stickers on Amazon which would improve identification of each socket greatly... My moto for turning sixty-five years old is: I cannot see, hear, or remember, but these sticker labels will help....
